India 2024

WELL HERE goes I am planning India 2024 which will be: i didn't run 2023 because of the visa everyone would have had to travel to London or Cardiff probably twice to get a visa as England was the only country not being allowed to use e visas

the trip will be

 sometime in February/March
cost you a lot of money the amount i have no real idea at the moment but inflation gone up at least 10% over the three year

will be probably 15 - 17 days

probably flying from LONDON i can get flight considerably cheaper from London

will be in the Kerala Tamil Nadu area

at this time i am just looking for expressions of interest ie if you are  just slightly interested please reply with some comments I can then judge some numbers
there is a website being developed as we speak

please feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested

blogger sites are available these have been put together by me and those on the trip on the fly with no knowledge so please be gentle with the comments

And yes it’s coffee

Route maps our first days travel south bound

I took with me on our merry little jaunt a tracker which recorded our route SOMETIMES

Day one of which is shown below unfortunately or probably fortunately it does not show the cheeky little cake shops and ice cream shops which we were able to add to our Journey it also failed to record after 14:30 I am not sure the reason probably a flat battery but we actually finished much further south

I have added the route back from Rzeszow remembering that our ride to Solina was not recorded

One of our days off was visiting the Chelm chalk tunnels

One of our days off was visiting the Chelm chalk tunnels situated in the heart of Chelm and accounting for its lines of drunken street lights
Above ground there is a definite drunk appearance, each line of street lights are all set at a jaunty angle and not one at the same as it's adjacent light this is a direct response to the subsidence caused by the chalk mining
Dating back to the original inhabitants of Chelm chalk has been almost continuously mined firstly on a ad hoc basis and as a result of substantial subsidence more controlled. 15 different levels have been identified and in 1985 three of these have been open to the public with a labyrinth of over a mile of tunnels and chambers including one occupied by a resident ghost "BIELUCH" translated to the obvious Whitey we spent a relaxing couple of hours exploring in a comfortable and constant for 9 degrees.

Sunday morning

Sunday morning
Chem northern Poland on the eastern border with Ukraine. Yesterday we left Rzeszow which is in the south of ukraine our paln was travelling North. We left with a splattering of rain which shortly increased to fully wet roads although we were able to miss the actual showers I dislike roads that have just had a light shower much more than fully wet and washed roads I find them to much less predictable and sure enough twice I was caught out once braking to a stop and the rear wheelb abs kicked in, in fairness I was braking quite hard on the rear brake and there was the just the slightest of hesitation in slowing. it is a bit disconcerting as the bike appears to accelerate briefly between the reactions it doesn't but it feels like it The second time was more my fault accelerating and the traction control stepped in as I said it was my fault, I will add as a valid excuse that due to the discomfort in my legs I am finding gear changing tedious and need to raise the lever the slightest amount. I dropped it the other day and although it made riding much easier I find that the movement distance between one gear and the next especially 1st to 2nd,greater than than the Triumph which only needs the slightest of flicks to go from gear to gear The BMW needs more and I realise that I am not allowing second gear to reselect third so have consciously drop my foot lower.Tomorrow another slight adjustment! Anyway that's how I ended up with the traction control kicking in for the first ever time on road and whilst I wonder about all the longevity of all the sensors etc admire the Sophistication of this machine. Riding varies from open Relatively flat sweeping roads to towns and villages all of which have an interesting aspect to keep me amused The scenary wss fantastic every changing nearly always green and a real bikers road surface and minimum traffic. we stopped for lunch at a tourist cafe / resturant and at the moment cannot think what we ate
